Receptionist
at St. Frances Cabrini
Position Purpose
The vocation of every member of Christ’s Faithful is first and foremost to know Jesus, to love Jesus, and to serve Jesus. The Receptionist at Lakewood Catholic Parish Family St. Frances Cabrini Campus assists the pastor in providing a welcoming and responsive presence for parishioners in the front office and collaborating with staff to assist parishioners in their Communing in the Lord’s beauty, Evangelizing through catechesis, and Embodying the works.
Job Duties
Work with Fr. Lou and the staff of the Lakewood Catholic Parish Family to assist parishioners in growing in Faith and virtue.
Assures a hospitable and welcoming presence for parish visitors, providing appropriate assistance and/or referral to visitors.
Promotes and oversees volunteers who assist with front-office clerical duties.
Answers the telephone and assures accurate and prompt transmission of information and messages.
Provides general information to callers or visitors to the parish.
Provides clerical assistance as requested by the supervisor, including calling to schedule or confirm meetings, filing, collating, copying, sorting, and preparing labels.
Opens and distributes incoming mail and ensures the mailing of outgoing mail.
Assures the parish office is properly opened in the morning and securely closed in the evening.
Provides assistance to parishioners requesting Mass requests and Mass cards and provides information about stipends.
Keeps Sacramental Records and oversees their proper recordings.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Fr. Lou.
Parish Communications Support
Assist in communicating effectively with the parish family by:
Submitting the weekly bulletin for printing.
Ensuring bulletins are stuffed (when needed) and delivered to the church in a timely manner.
Developing and maintaining a consistent schedule for parish social media postings.
Preparing and distributing the weekly parish newsletter.
Maintaining current and accurate parish information throughout the church by regularly updating bulletin boards, signage, and posted announcements.
Office Coordination
Work in coordination with the Parish Family Secretary to:
Ensure accurate and adequate registration of parishioners.
Oversee appropriate stocking, use, and distribution of office supplies.
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers to support front office operations.
Requirements
Believes everything contained in the word of God, whether written or handed down in Tradition, which the Church, either by a solemn judgment or by the ordinary and universal Magisterium, sets forth to be believed as divinely revealed. Also firmly accepts and holds all that the Church definitively proposes regarding teaching on faith and morals.
Desires to grow in an authentic life of prayer and unity with Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church.
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
Strong ability to prioritize task load based on importance.
Excellent computer literacy and ease in working in a digital office environment.
Willingness to learn and use parish software platforms, including Canva, Flocknote, and ParishStaq.
Strong written English skills, with attention to clarity, accuracy, and tone appropriate for parish communications.
Preferred
These attributes are not required, but could be beneficial for the job position above.
Experience in the field of study.
Other experience in leadership and organization.
